I just wrote a post about the five movies I’m most looking forward to in 2015 and found this trailer in the process. If you know me, you know I LOVE Avengers more than my firstborn child. Granted, I don’t have a child, but I’m positive I’d love Avengers more. I have no clue how I haven’t seen it earlier (I SWEAR I’M A FAN). I guess I’ve just been waiting for this movie for so long that it’s impossible to maintain a constant level of excitement, but I’M BACK with this trailer. I watched the first trailer of course, but somehow I missed this one – it’s EVEN BETTER. Anyways, I CAN’T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT SO I HAVE TO USE A LOT OF CAPSLOCK, and I’m also dedicating an entire post to this.
Okay okay, so now that you’ve seen it (I’m assuming you’ve watched it by now, if not DO IT NOW)… HOW AWESOME IS THAT TRAILER? Can we just take a minute to appreciate the glory of all the Avengers + friends hanging out together like motherfucking bros? MY HEART. I swear if the whole movie just contained all of them chilling in the Avengers tower, making fun of each other, I’d never leave that theater. I love Thor’s face when Steve starts pulling his hammer (yes, I intentionally phrased it that way). He looks like UMMM maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all, why don’t we do something else now? Then there’s Natasha being Natasha and Thor being all told ‘cha and everything’s sweet as pie, and then ALL OF A SUDDEN cue creepy music and HAVOC, DESTRUCTION, DARKNESS and I LOVE IT SO MUCH OMG.
I love the the collage of despair and dancers (no clue why they’re in there but it works). I’m generally a sucker for AI-gone-wrong stories and I love the direction they chose for this. It looks Epic-with-a-capital-E, which is exactly what I’m expecting from this movie, and the end with the “There are no strings on me” rounds it up perfectly. The fact that Tony Stark created Ultron in this version makes the story so much more interesting. I’m sure it’ll have quite the emotional impact on Tony and possibly the other Avengers. Speaking of, I’m looking forward to the cast additions! I hope it doesn’t mean any of the old Avengers are leaving soon. It wouldn’t really surprise me if someone died, but then from the movies that are planned for the next couple of years it doesn’t look like it. It seems like they’ll all be pushed to their limits and beyond though, and knowing Joss Whedon he’ll do it beautifully. I’m a fan of basically anything he does because he really gets characters, and he always has that perfect blend of action/horror and humor.
Bottom line: I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW.
