What’s New?

It was my birthday this week! I celebrated with my friends last night, which was awesome. I had a bit of a rough week, so I really enjoyed having drinks with them and just hanging out. It was great, and I got some cool presents as well. I also had a family thing today. Sadly, not everyone could come, but we still had cake for a small army, so it was okay. I brought some over to the neighbours, because I need them to continue accepting ALL THE PACKAGES ALL THE TIME instead of secretely plotting my murder I’m such a nice person.

The Shiny

Lots of new books this week!

I bought World After by Susan Ee after reading the first book in the series, Angelfall. Because I was in the mood for some fluff, I also got The Undomestic Goddess. I already own it, and I’ve read it at least twice, but it was the German version, so I figured I might as well buy the English one. My grandma got me Shopaholic to the Stars for my birthday, a friend of mine got me The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, which isn’t my usual style, but I’ll definitely give it a try, and another friend got me 100 Days Happier with some very thoughtful personal dedications inside.

Happy birthday! It looks like you had a lot to party about this week, including that lovely book haul. I hope they delight you, as all books should. Also, I’m very interested to check out that positivity blog. Thanks for the tip!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY a few days late. Also, what kind of cake is that? Are those green grape halves on it?

I purchased The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie last Christmas. I don’t really remember what prompted me to buy it because it’s not in my comfort zone. I should probably read that soon…

THANK YOU also a few days late. :D Yes, they’re green grape halfs, but they’re completely unrelated to the cake haha. I guess my grandma just decided they would make for good decoration? It’s this sort of yogurette strawberry cake. It’s pretty good! The bottom is with nuts and yogurette and somehow no flour even though you don’t taste it, and then there’s a layer of strawberries and then cream with yogurette mixed in again. Let me know what you think if you read it before me!

I am so late to this party that I don’t know if I should wish you the most belated birthday in the universe, or just comment on the cake. I’ll do both. So happy happy very belated birthday :D And LOOK AT THAT CAKE I WANT SOME.

But it’s probably all gone by now :D And by probably I mean 100% sure it is :D

I see a lot of Sophie Kinsella in that pile! And I am definitely going to be reading Angelfall this year so I am looking forward to when I crack that open. Hope you enjoy all those books ^^

Birthday wishes are always welcome! You’re FASHIONABLY late. :D I think some is in the freezer (I guess three cakes were a bit much for like six people haha but tell that to my grandma). Yeah, I like me some Sophie Kinsella when I’m in the mood for some lighthearted fun! And I hope you’ll like Angelfall! It’s not really a book that I thought about a lot after reading it, but I quite enjoyed it!
