What’s New?

I’m back in Germany! I can’t believe my year in England is already over. It went by so fast it literally feels like it was a dream. But I’ve experienced a lot, and I’m sure I’m a different person than I was a year ago. Now I’m in a weird transitionary period I’m not quite sure what to do with. But so far I haven’t felt bored, both for good and bad reasons. It’s great to spend some time with my family and friends who I haven’t seen in a while. I was home a few times the last year, but I also missed things, and it’s different to be back for good now, even though I still can’t quite believe it.

In less important news, my email subscriptions stopped working, and I lost my subscribers when I fixed it in case you didn’t see my psa last time, so if you were subscribed, you’ll have to resubsribe, sorry for the inconvenience. <3 (Or, you know, just subsribe anyway, since emails only go out for post notifications I can definitely promise there won't be too many haha)
I also have a few last spaces left for guest posters for Shattering Stigmas, so let me know if you’re interested!

The Shiny

‘Round the Web

In this week’s random links…

…I stumbled upon The woman who gave birth for Hitler, which talks about someone who was part of Hitler’s breeding programme, and it’s just all kinds of chill-inducing but also fascinating. Apparently one of the members of Abba was one of the “Lebensborn”??? And many babies probably didn’t even know they were part of the programme later on… seriously creepy.

…I read this interesting article about Goals vs. Systems, which talks about how it may be more beneficial to follow systems than to strive for goals sometimes.

…I also found this article called Friends You Can Count On, which talks about the interesting paradox that your friends almost always have more friends than you do and how it is used to calculate how fast diseases spread (it will make sense when you read it… probably).

Holy shit, I read the Lebensborn article and… DAMN. I did not know this was a thing, and my mind is blown and horrified. I read the friend article too. And I kind of get it, but I also don’t know if it’s true?

Anyway, that was fun, you always know the best ways to procrastinate :D I can’t believe your time in England is over either- doesn’t it seem like you JUST went!? Do you have any plans for what comes next? If you fancy a trip to random-ass-town in the US… I’m your girl. The Office (the US version, obviously hah) was filmed here, if that helps?

Yeah, that was my reaction too. It’s fascinating but horrifying. It LITERALLY seems like I just went. I’d love to come to the US and visit (I didn’t know that about your town – I don’t watch The Office, but that’s cool anyway!), but my funds say no. Some day! I’m so glad the email notifications are working again, I have no idea what the issue with the other plugin was. Oh well, this one looks prettier anyway.

    I love Kim Harrison. Enjoy!

We lost our email subscribers too. When we lost our blog hosting, we couldn’t retrieve those records. We had to start from scratch on the new website. So far, we only have 5 subscribers. It’s sad. Good luck to you!

Transitions are tough, I imagine especially when you’re moving home from another country? Hope you’re having a great time re- acclimating to home. Oh and that Harrison cover is awesome!

That Beach Boys song is kinda fun too!

It’s a bit more challenging when you’re moving countries, but I’m still glad I did it! It’s been fun to catch up with friends, thanks. :) Hope you’re having a good week!

I’m glad you had a fun year in England Vlora! I kind of wish I could do something like that, and move to Europe maybe (which might be a possibility in the future, but it is daunting, moving countries just like that).

And the giving birth to Hitler’s baby article reminded me of the book Max, which is the YA version of that I suppose. Like I guess I “knew” it was a thing, but wasn’t sure if it was real. So that is creepy that it is.

Fingers crossed! If you ever make it to Europe, let me know. :) Oh wow there’s a YA book about it?? I’ll have to check it out. It’s definitely creepy AF, agreed.
