What’s New?

This week I…

  • caught up on Teen Wolf and Suits (both awesomesauce)
  • had a veeery minor skin surgery on my head that led to some stitches and self-indulgent reading time
  • recorded but didn’t edit a new video
  • talked to my teacher about a term paper subject and
  • read The Rosie Project and a play for uni

I’m starting an internship at a small local radio station on Monday, so wish me luck! I’m going out with some friends later on, and then I’ll try to actually get term paper related stuff done tomorrow. I probably need more luck for that than for the internship. There’s just always something better to do, isn’t there? Also, my first blogoversary is coming up! I can’t believe it’s already been a year! I’m not sure whether I’ll do anything for it yet, but if you have any suggestions, let me know. :)

The Shiny

As a result of the surgery, my grandma bought me pity books, yay! I have a pile of books I haven’t read yet, but it’s mostly fantasy, classics and a historical fiction. I’ve been craving something lighter lately, so I got these two:

Well, actually I got Shopaholic to the Stars and not Mini Shopaholic, because it was a bookstore with a tiny English section and they only had that that one, but my grandma wanted to confiscate one book to give me for my birthday anyway, so I just ordered Mini Shopaholic myself as I haven’t read it yet. I don’t know about you, but I just can’t read books out of order. I already read the Rosie Project on Thursday, and I really liked it! I expected something different, but sometimes that’s not a bad thing.

‘Round the Web

Oh well, let’s see.

On the Blog

I have something this week! I’m so proud.

As always, I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post hosted by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

So how was your week? Any blogoversary suggestions? Have you read any of the books I bought?

Agh, I CAN’T watch Teen Wolf!! I WILL. But when the entire season is out…it’s so stressful. For a show with such a cliche name it absolutely tears out my heart and stamps on it regularly. *bursts into tears* It’s hard not seeing spoilers though.
AWK. I’m glad your surgery went well and you got some nice pity books. ;-) Your grandma is fabulous.

I much prefer watching shows when the whole season is out too, but sometimes I just can’t resist. And you’re right – the name doesn’t do the show’s creepiness justice. Seriously, they’re strong on the horror lately (or always?). It’s not usually my thing, but Stiles (<3) and the teen drama (for which I guess the name is fitting) lighten it up a bit. I feel like it's a bit Whedonesque with the horror/humor mix sometimes. She is fabulous! :D

GOOD LUCK on the internship- but really, I know you’ll do great. As for the blogoversary… HM. I am a big fan of any celebration, but I think you could do FUN without complicated. Make us a funny video, I love your funny videos! HEY you and your grandma could celebrate in the video. Talk about a win-win!

Errr.. teeeechnically I was planning to, but I’m a bit low on time right now. We’ll see!

I’m all in favor of cake, but I’d prefer it if someone else baked it for me haha. I was thinking about a questionnaire – maybe! Also, a video maybe. Thanks for the suggestions. :)

Oh, awesome, seems like you have a lot of cool stuff going on too! And congrats again on your grades!! See you soon. :)

Pity books are the best books! Okay, not actually, but they’re pretty darn good for feeling better. I’ve read almost all of Kinsella’s books; I quite like them! :)

  5. Romi

Oh no, I hope you’re absolutely okay, Vlora? Any kind of surgery is a bringer of anxiety and at least some kind of pain, so I hope it wasn’t too rough for you and you don’t have any lasting pain, now. Awsome of your grandmother to have bought you pity books, though! How fun and kind of her! I’ve got The Rosie Project on hold/wishlist at the library, the audio version (which I’ve heard is rather enjoyable), so I’m excited to listen to it. Your cover is so fantastic. And apprently there’s a movie being made, too, which is interesting. xx

Thanks for your kind comment, Romi! Yes, I’m absolutely fine, and I’ll get the stitches removed soon. :) Yeah, she’s awesome like that! I hope you’ll enjoy The Rosie Project; I just bought the sequel. Oh, I didn’t know about the movie! I might check that out when it’s released.

I really enjoyed The Rosie Project – it was a bit surprise. I was less enamoured with the sequel, but guess that’s often the case.

I used to really enjoy Suits but missed a few eps of the last season and then didn’t get back into it. I should though as it’s a show I enjoy!

I can definitely recommend it! It had some issues, but overall it was a really enjoyable book. :) It is super fun! I’ve been doing it for a couple of days now, and I definitely enjoy it. Have a great week!

Yeah, I catch up on them every couple of weeks. It’s not a series that has me waiting impatiently for the next instalment, but I quite enjoy them when I’m in the mood for it. :)

Have fun with your internship – sounds like a great job. I am neurotic about reading books in order too. I just picked up what I thought was a good looking book at an Outlet store 2 weeks ago only to discover a week later when looking at it is is BOOK 8! No where does it indicate that on the cover or back flap. Hope you enjoy all your books!

Thank you, I’ve been working there for a couple of days, and I’m liking it so far! ARGH NO I hate when that happens. One time I bought some books that were assigned to me for a university seminar, and then realized the teacher had chosen at least two books that weren’t the first in their series. Like… why!???
