Cake Conversations Banner Kopie - Kopie

The Week

This week was busy! Tell me, how do people go to work, have a social life AND blog several times a week? I didn’t work per se, but I finished my last term paper on Monday, and then I had a seminar on graphic design all day from Tuesday to Friday. I am SO glad I’m done with my term papers. I have no idea how they turned out, but I’m hoping for the best. It’s very nice to have some guilt-free relaxation time, but of course the next semester starts in a couple of days. The graphic design seminar this week was voluntary, and I think I learned a lot! I’m pretty sure those skills will come in handy in the future, so I’m glad I went and that my university offers things like that for free.

This is my university town – pretty, no?

The Shiny

Due to a lack of reading time (I actually went to bed early this week; I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that), I still have a lot of unread books, but I did get a graphic novel:

I’ve been meaning to read some Marvel comics, because I’m such a huge fan of the movies. I read Sydney’s review of Ms Marvel and decided it’s a great place to start. It sounds awesome, and I really like the cover art, so I bought it. Speaking of, I also rewatched Iron Man 1 & 2, and I’m planning to rewatch some of the other movies in expectation of Age of Ultron. I can’t believe the release date is so soon; I feel like I’ve been waiting two years for it. Oh, wait… I HAVE.

On the Blog

So what was up with you this week? Are you enjoying the sun (or cold if you’re on the other side of the globe), or are you more of an inside kind of person (I am)? Anything exciting happen this week? Let me know below!

I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, which is a great way to show off new books, and the Sunday Post hosted by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer, which gives us all a chance to recap what happened during the week!

and good to hear that you liked your design course! :D

Ms. Marvel looks very interesting! I am not into that super hero stuff (not a tiny bit) but I looove the artwork of this! (maybe I can sneak a peek when I visit you?)

oh and the femininity article was also very good.

    and oooh yes, the sun!
yesterday I enjoyed the sun with M., he made a barbecue party with his buddies :D

I’m so happy you love them! :) You’re welcome – I feel like I should get a Pinterest account, but that site just never interested me much. The article I linked makes me think I might be wrong! Yes, you can most certainly sneak a peek on Monday; I really love the artwork too! Ooooh BBQ, so looking forward to doing that sometime soon! :)

I’ve read it now and I gotta admit while I did enjoy it, I wasn’t exactly over the moon about the story. I can’t say anything about Marvel vs DC when it comes to comics, but movie-wise I’m definitely more of a Marvel person, so I thought I’d start there! Thanks for the luck, I might need it! :D

Your university town IS gorgeous! Whereabouts is it?

Ooh, Ms Marvel! I was so excited when they announced her movie, even though I barely know anything about her. And that does sound like good prep for Avengers 2 — for myself, I’ve been rewatching the trailers and looping the trailer music XD

It’s in Tübingen, Germany! Not all of it is that pretty, but I really can’t complain overall. :)

Oh yeah, you’re right, they’re making a Captain Marvel movie! The comic is different because it’s about a girl who (through circumstances i still don’t quite get) suddenly has Captain Marvel’s powers, so I don’t know anything about Captain Marvel either. I’m excited for the movie though! I still think there should be a Black Widow movie too. Who wants Ant Man? Unless it’s going to be a great movie. Avengers 2 is coming so soon now!

Ohhh pretty picture!! I wish I went to school there, it is lovely. I could show you pictures of the town I went to school in… well, no, no one needs to see that ;)

Also… why early sleeping!? This is not acceptable! I jest. Hopefully you got sleep. Sleep is good. And I agree- I am an inside person too. I only come out to see the sun, say “oh, what a lovely day!” while I am checking for bookmail, and scurry back into my artificial lighting. <3

Haha well, not ALL parts of town are that pretty. The building where the actual classes happen is more of a 1960s relic with a main color scheme of grey/grey/grey. Overall, it’s a really nice place to study though!

Hahahaha I love that. I’m similar when it comes to good weather – I appreciate it from inside most of the time. You’ll be happy to hear that I’ve since gone back to a more healthy sleep schedule of going to bed around 3 am. :D

Awk, I want to read that comic. AND YOUR TOWN IS SO SO CUTE. Those little squashedly skinny tall houses and in so many colours. Omg. I must kidnap those buildings and keep them for myself. *nods* Gee, but going to bed early? ARE YOU GETTING OLD OR SOMETHING? AH HAH AH HAH. *shushes self because actually has been going to bed early too* It’s winter. It’s cold. Sleeping has it’s bonuses. ^-^

YES TO ALL THE COLORS. I love it when people paint houses in different colors; it always looks so much more cheerful. :) I’ve been going to bed and getting up early for like two weeks now due to my new job. Going to bed early by my standards still means between 10 and 1, BUT STILL. It feels weird. It’s spring going on summer here! It’s okay though, as soon as it gets really hot, my room under the roof is going to be unbearably hot anyways, so I might as well get up early.

Everything in life has a system, and every system can be beat. You count followers and visitors by the thousands, and know exactly how to extract every drop out of every network and platform you touch. In fact, you just cheated the system to get Batman. Well played.
