What’s New?

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a smashing start of the year. I spent New Year’s Eve super low-key watching movies with a friend and watching the fireworks from my window, because I had to study the next day and because I’m a rebel and go out on Sundays rather than when everyone goes out because clearly that would be boring I tell myself. I was very productive yesterday, which I’m hoping will continue throughout the year (I know what you’re thinking, BUT YOU CAN’T PREDICT THE FUTURE). I planned to do the same today, but one of my friends returned from a semester abroad, so I didn’t get much done. Wish me luck for the next few days!

The Shiny

I got some books yesterday as a reward for my productivity, but they haven’t arrived yet. I wonder what I should get myself if I ever finish the term paper I’m working on if I get books after one day. Feel free to leave suggestions below. I also got this book, because it was a super cheap Kindle deal and I’ve been wanting to read something by Melissa Keil for ages.

On the Blog

What was your favorite thing in 2015? Did you make some 2016 blogging or other resolutions? What do you think should be my reward for finishing my term paper and keep in mind that I need some STRONG motivation?

As always, I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post hosted by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer!

I love the cover of Life in Outer Space! Hope it will be a great book.

I wish you much motivation for your term paper! If I can do some research for you (or think through something), just tell me! :)

Aw, thanks for the offer, but I think I’ll have to do it by myself. The holidays were too short, weren’t they? I’m SO ready for a relaxing holiday with no assignments lurking in the back of my mind. I agree, I should DEFINITELY spoil myself. :D

When you finish your term paper, you get to reward yourself by buying a whole bookstore. And then you let me come take books for free for being the awesome person who suggested the idea to you.

I love that every book blogger so far has described their New Year’s Eve as being low-key. I especially loved that by 1am, while everyone else was partying, we were all on Goodreads posting our 2016 challenges lol. I too watched some fireworks from the window, but seriously they haven’t even stopped here. I’ve heard them nearby for the past two nights also -_-

Anyway, here’s to a great new year!

That seems like a good and feasible idea. :D Haha yes, we seem to be a low-key bunch! And, um, yes the Goodreads challenge is obviously one of the most important New Year’s traditions. XD Oh wow, that’s a particular kind of dedication. There are always people who start early on New Year’s Eve here, but not so many who continue with the fireworks the days after. Yes, a great new year to you too!

Your reward for finishing your term paper? Hm…Dinner out (or order in), plus buy some bon bons, and the buy THE book. The one you’ve been DYING to read. Even if it’s hardcover. Just do it! Like right now, I’m dying to read the Love that Split the World by Emily Henry. It comes out at the end of January (here in the US at least), and I don’t think I can wait for it to come out in paperback.

The problem is that I already bought all of THE books I want to read :D I have no restraint. Well, actually I have some restraint when it comes to hardcovers, because boy are they expensive. I totally understand not being able to wait when it’s something you want to read specifically – I’ve been there!

Please tell me how Life In Outer Space is, because I HAD that book in my hands from the library, but then I ended up not reading it and had to return it. So boo hoo.

You’re reward for your term paper should be cookies. And donuts. And why not listen to your blog name and get CAKE. BAKE A CAKE VLORA.

    *whispers* bake me a cake

I will! It’ll proooobably be a while until I get around to reading it, but I’ll definitely type up a review. :) Mmm cookies. Maybe I’ll bake cookies or a cake, though I really feel like the reward should be for someone else to bake me cookies. And cake. Basically, bake me some cake, Val.

I think your reward should be.. a new book! What’s better than that? :)

I like quiet New Years too, and this year was no exception. Didn’t do much of anything, and that was OK. I like the cover of Life in Outer Space, those kinds of covers always jump out at me.

but you don’t understaaand, Greg, I’m already running out of shelf space because of all the books I bought and haven’t read yet. :D I’ll probably still end up doing that though, let’s be real. A quiet New Year’s sounds good to me. Hope you had a good start of the year!
