What’s New?

The semester ended! Well, technically it’s still the summer semester until September, and as always I have to write approximately ten thousand term papers (okay 2 or 3, but they’re LONG), but at least classes are over. I had an oral exam yesterday, which went well (not thanks due to my diligent studying).

Other random things that happened the last three weeks:

  • I finally watched Birdman, and it was slightly confusing, but good (even though it made fun of superhero movies)
  • I went to my old school’s summmer fest and decided I don’t understand other people’s nostalgia (except for arts, which I miss)
  • My laptop broke, so I stole my grandma’s new one until I get mine back. She hasn’t even used it yet. Yes, I’m a horrible person, you can’t be surprised? I literally just got my laptop, so it was sliiightly frustrating, but at least I could rescue some of my data, so I’ll live.
  • I continued to make videos every week, so please check them out if you want to be my new favorite person forever (#shameless)

The Shiny

I got a camera! I was tired of my phone telling me I don’t have enough memory space, so I splurged and got this baby:

Pic from amazon. It's not an affiliate link, but I figured I'd link to their site anyway, so they don't sure me. Dubious? Always.

I’ve tried it out to record my new video, and it’s really nice to have an actual camera. I feel like the video and sound quality aren’t actually THAT much better than on my phone, but iPhone cameras are pretty dope, so I’m okay with that. I can finally record without having to stop to import everything to my laptop every two seconds, so it’s a win in my book.

I also bought and listened to A Work in Progress by Connor Franta. It had some good moments, but overall wasn’t really for me.

Pic by Goodreads, who haven't sued me so far, but there's time yet (please don't, I just spent all my money on that new camera).

No new books apart from that, because I barely have time to read at the moment. I mean I have the time, but I should always be doing something else, so I can’t really get into it. I miss it though, so I’m hoping to make more time for it the next couple of weeks!

I feel so guilty when I get so busy procrastinating. I mean, it really does take up a lot of my time. People just don’t seem to get that, you know? I have a couple of blog posts that I should probably type up, but your youtube video made me curious about the psychology of procrastination, and I kind of want to research that now…I must resist the temptation!

This is HILARIOUS! I love your videos because they are so damn honest. I am the same way. “I have SO MUCH TO DO”…. stares at Twitter. Takes a nap. Looks at the clock. I am picturing the Procrastination Games and yeah, everyone is just laying on their plates, picking at their nails, looking at the clouds… someone meanders off to the cornucopia, thinks about grabbing some food or knife, but it’s too far away so they lay down and catch a nap. Eventually some fools drag themselves to the lake, but they just kind of roll in and splash a little. Such a win ;)

Also, my favorite part was skipping the friend’s going away party to “study” bwhahahaha. Love the new camera too!

I read your comment on my way to work on Monday, and your description of the Procrastination Games really made me laugh haha. Most boring show ever. Less death though, so it could become a family show. Thanks so much for the kind words. :)

So glad you do, thanks for letting me know! :) It’s more of a video camera, but I really need to start taking more pictures again.
