This week I’ve spent some time at the university library not getting any work done; went to work where I did actually get some work done, because they pay me for it and apparently money is a stronger motivator than my self-development (who would have thought? Oh right, capitalism); and met up with some friends. NaNo is still on hold and will probably continue to be so, because I didn’t make that much progress on my term paper. In unrelated news, it was snowing today, so apparently winter is a thing now. More importantly, Christmas chocolate is a thing now! I mean, technically I’ve been seeing Christmas products in stores since August, but this is the time when I start to actually acknowledge them.
Oh boy. I finally bought a Kindle, but it won’t arrive until Monday. I wanted to buy a Kindle when they first came out, but then my mum got me another ebook reader, which was great and awesome and very thoughtful of her because I hadn’t actually said anything – but I can’t get the ebooks I actually want with it, because there aren’t a lot of choices for English ebooks, so I’ve just been using the Kindle app on my phone or tablet when I wanted ebooks. I’ve finally convinced myself to spring for a Kindle (Voyage, because who needs money on their bank account, and did I blame capitalism yet?). I can’t wait to get it! It was a spur of the moment BUT WHAT IF I MOVE AND CAN’T TAKE ALL MY BOOKS WITH ME thing, which is how I make most of my decisions, really.
Holly’s Inbox: Scandal in the City is the sequel to Holly’s Inbox. Both books are written entirely in email format, and they’re extremely quick reads. Very entertaining, can recommend.
On the Blog
- I shared some snippets from the story I’m writing in my NaNoWriMo week 2 post!
- I explained why I read so much Young Adult literature
- and I told you that you absolutely have to watch The Martian! I’ve read the book by now, and the movie stays fairly close to it, so if you liked the book you have even more reason to watch the movie
Tune of the Week
I don’t listen to that much electronic, but I like everything with a good beat and Aero Chord kills it every time. I bought some of their music, and this one’s probably my favorite so far. I love the lyrics and that beat drop at 1:17 is perfection.
As always, I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and the Sunday Post hosted by the Caffeinated Book Reviewer!
