Vicious Things and Procrastination

June 20, 2015 books, miscellaneous 20

Heeello people of the internet,

hang on, I feel like that’s someone else’s signature greeting.

What’s New?

I don’t know! It’s been weeks. Lemme see… I’m “busy” “doing” university stuff. By the quotation marks you can see that means I’m busy reading, catching up on my favorite TV shows (heeeello Orange is the New Black, Orphan Black and Community, I am deeply ashamed I haven’t watched all of your new episodes yet), and doing all sorts of random stuff.

I’m interning at a small radio station close to where I live over the summer, so I aim to write all the term papers that I usually write during the holidays during the semester. We’ll see how that goes. I’m also working sometimes (by which I mean I’m creating, completing and doublechecking what feels like all the lists in the world), but sadly I have to save all of the money for next year, so the Tony Stark lifestyle I’ve always dreamed of will have to wait a little while longer.

The Shiny

I FINALLY got some new books, so I can actually post this. :D I haven’t been buying tons of books lately, because I still have so many unread ones lying around, but I downloaded another audiobook (Finding Audrey) and bought Vicious. I’ve been circling Vicious for weeks, because it sounds EXACTLY like my kind of book, so eventually I just gave in and ordered it. It was much cheaper as an ebook, but I wanted it on my shelves, so the paperback it is. Isn’t the cover awesome?

I saved some of these links a couple of weeks ago, but oldies are goldies, right?

Have you read Vicious or anything else by V.E. Schwab? Did you like it? Any summer plans yet? Do you think the new Community season is still funny?

It’s definitely a thing. :D I’ve only seen the first two or three episodes so far. Thanks, I’m reading it right now! (Well, right now I’m replying to comments, but it’s lying right beside me. :D) Have a great week!

I’ve never seen Star Wars Rebels, but I’m curious about the new movie that’s coming out. I really didn’t see that one coming! Ooooh sweet, we can share reading experiences then. :D I’m reading it right now. Some things don’t make sense to me, but it’s FABULOUS and the writing is GORGEOUS and basically I’m in love with it.

I need to get Viscous. I also need THAT cover of it, the US one is so, so ugly. And thanks for linking to my post! Hope things are going well in university, and with the internship AND the job… goodness, you have a LOT going on right now! Hope things calm down a bit, because… there are shows to be watched ;)

I just checked and you’re right, this cover is way prettier. I AM PLEASED. :D Ordering books on amazon is always a hit or miss when it comes to covers, because I usually get the UK versions (as it’s way cheaper for them to deliver than from the UK than from the US) and sometimes they’re better and sometimes …not so much. Ah, the internship isn’t until August, so it’s just university and the job, but I’m fully read for a white sand beach and some cocktails. :D

    hello hello!

so which radio station did you choose? that sounds really great!!
my summer dreams (plans) are made of festivals (I have to buy tickets for some and listen to the line-up first) and a vacation in France, but I have to wait for that till the end of July and the beginning of August.

lots of love for you! :D

You’ll be posting a review of Vicious when you’ve read it, won’t you? WON’T YOU, VLORA?
Basically: Romi wants you to post a review of Vicious. I know it’s supposedly amazing and incredibly and I love that you describe it as a book that is exactly your kind of thing (for me I’m saying hello to Magonia and Uprooted), but I haven’t personally been sold on it. It does sound really interesting and I love the discussion between good and evil and all of it, but I’m not sure if the rest of the book would be for me. So I shall await the review I know *squints fearsomely* you shall be posting.

OF COURSE I WILL. Since you’re asking nicely. :D :D I’m reading it right now and some things are frustrating, but overall it’s awesome, and the writing is great and I’m basically in love with it. I’ll report back with a review once I’m done!
